Though it takes many days to produce a complete bodycast or even a finished head, with its colour matched eyes and hand-applied hair, the actual process of sitting for a lifecast is both comfortable and quick. We advise that 4 hours be put aside for the whole process, from getting
to know the model and explaining the process, preparing for casting, the
casting itself and cleaning up afterwards.
Typically the actual process itself takes between 20 and 30 minutes. The models eyes are closed throughout the application of casting materials and these are then opened up via very careful modelling and reference to photographs and measurements taken at the time of the sitting when the finished cast is made.
Eye colour and pattern can be matched almost exactly if required and facial hair is applied strand by strand. Bespoke and standard wigs can also be supplied.
Allan wanted this copy of his face to go on his office wall. We had great fun coaching him in posing to convey just the right impression. He then asked for another six copies as bronze finish “BAFTA” type awards for his annual dinner!
